WinXastir
The news and comments on the Cygwin Xastir WinXastir project have been moved to their own discussion page. It was too confusing mixing them in here with the information for my local clients and other computer users.

We have to be careful with spyware software. Some is actually spyware itself that works against their competitors while spying on you.
Some folks such as the Security Mentor and Eric Howes, the Spyware Warrior keep a close eye on the programs out there. Here's the recommended list of known good software:

If you get a free account on dslreports.com, you can go to http://www.dslreports.com/secureme_go and have them run a test where they do the electronic equivalent of twisting all the doorknobs to see if they're locked. Don't try this from your work computer without permission.
